

The Montecito Fire Protection District is recruiting for the position of Firefighter/Paramedic. Under general supervision of an engine company captain responds to fire calls, medical calls and other emergencies. Operates and maintains fire apparatus and other district equipment. Serve as acting engineer, as required. Participate in fire prevention programs and public education. Responds to medical emergencies and follows Santa Barbara County protocols. Perform other duties as needed. 56 hour safety employees work 8 shifts of 24 hours each within a 24 day cycle (a total of 192 hrs). This is an average workweek of 56 hours.

Applications will be accepted between August 23th, 2010 and August 27th, 2010 during normal business hours 8am-5pm.
Applications must be delivered in person by the applicant with proof of identification.
Included with your application should be a copy of your resume and required licenses and certificates. Proof of successful completion of CPAT (Candidate Physical Agility Test) will be required by September 25th, 2010. If you completed the CPAT within the 12 months previous to August 27th, 2010 and have proof that you passed it, you will not need to retake it. If your CPAT certificate is dated before August 27th, 2009 you should plan to attend a CPAT orientation, pre-test and test at a CPAT Provider.
